Action

So as we bring this first module to a close, I want to close with an exercise and experience an action for you to participate in. At this time and age where we're so used to having our attention curated from the beginning to the end of the day. And so it may seem boring to actually achieve a settled mind and to let those wonders of the mind play out till your mind is quiet. So really take some time and learn to curate your own attention. 

Learn to curate your awareness. And this starts with a settled mind. You can do this anywhere. It might be nice to find a space outside some quiet place close to a water body like this. Flowing water is a great spot and really just sit, be still, focus on your breathing, enter a meditative state and let all of the thoughts and worries of your mind play out. Let these play out till you really achieve a settled mind, because that's when you can really start to think clearly. This is a practice you need to build within yourself each day. At the beginning, it might take an hour. You might not even achieve a settled mind the first time you do it. But the more time you spend doing this, the quicker you'll be able to reach that settled mind and the quicker you'll be able to really think clearly. 

Another activity I'd like you to engage in is for a week. Just spend 5 minutes a day and journal a little bit about how you perceived your mind that day. Was it very cluttered? Was it very stressed or was it settled and clear? And then you can start to draw on yourself the differences that you have when you go through a day with a clear mind versus a very busy mind, with a clear mind, you're going to make better decisions. You're going to have clearer thoughts. You're going to understand and observe the world around you much better. And so take the time to experience that settled mind and to reflect and notice if you're in the settled mind or the busy monkey mind. 

Another thing I'd like you to really do is spend 15 minutes and think about your intentions and your goals for this course. We're really starting on quite the adventure here together, and it's good to give yourself some clear goals, some things you want to achieve or accomplish throughout the course of this so that we make sure we achieve them together. I look forward to seeing you in module one reading the Land.
